We run our own modern equipment with operators who have been reading this terrain for decades. That matters in the high country, where decomposed granite, rock and seasonal washes punish shortcuts.
For a new residence, coordinate clearing with the elevations for the custom house pad. If the same property includes an ADU or guest house, plan its access and utility routes before equipment starts moving soil. The final landscape leveling should follow those building and drainage decisions rather than force changes after the rough work is done.
