A leveled area that ponds water or sheds it toward your house is worse than the slope you started with. We grade usable space with positive drainage designed in: water moves away from structures and off the areas you want to use, without cutting ruts through them.
On rural parcels around Anza and Sage that usually means working with real slope, decomposed granite and the occasional boulder. We cut, fill and compact so the finished area holds its grade instead of settling into a dish the first winter.
Yes. We bench usable flat areas into sloped ground with cut and fill, compact so the new grade holds, and shape the transitions so they blend instead of eroding. It is some of the most common work we do on rural lots.
